Trip to Esplanade!

Hi all, today we visited Theatres by the Bay at the Esplanade!

We were brought around on a tour of the various facilities there. We were shown the concourse where there was an abstract exhibition being held.

Our tour guide brought us to the Concert Hall first. She explained to us about the size of the hall, the seating capacity, the sound stage and the numerous musical instruments available. We saw the pipes that they had there. There were so many of them!

If I remember correctly, here are some quick facts of the Concert Hall.
There is a total of 4740 organ pipes.
There are 1600 seats in various arrangements.
There are 84 doors above the stage to enhance (improve) the sound.

Next, our tour guide brought us to the Theatre. She took us immediately to the 3rd floor to show us the humongous size! There were so many seats around and the stage was so big! Currently there was a performance being held and we were lucky to see the stage equipment and the props.
Here are some quick facts:
There is a total of 2000 seats.
The stage is big enough to hold a Concorde aircraft!
The main stage is 16m high!

As our play was about to start, we left the theatre to go to the Theatre Studio on the fourth floor.

We were very excited to watch the 2 plays put up by ACT 3 Theatrics. It was fun watching "The Cat that Walks by Itself" and "How the first letter was written". The acting was great and all of us were very amazed. After the plays, the actors sat down for a question and answer session where they answered some of our questions.

Oh my! How fast time flies! It was already 5pm when we finally bade the Esplanade goodbye!

National Day Celebrations on 8/8/07

Hi all, the school celebrated the 42nd National Day with a solemn march-past, followed by the pledge recitation. The class had a jolly good time during the sing-along session, singing along to favourite national songs like One Nation, One Singapore, Where We Belong.

After the sing along session, we had loads of fun participating in the games organised by SMU students. Guess wat? Our class won in the Folk-dance competition and came in 2nd for the telematch. For soccer, we lost 1-2 to 2I but we had a great time. After the grueling games, we split up to play at the various stalls put up by the SMU students. We had face-painting, blowing, tic tac toe and even Squirting the bottle stalls.
We had so much fun!

Wrapping up, each one of us received a token from the school and another token from the students.

Boy, we had so much fun and we wished it would never end! Enjoy the pictures!

Maths Shopping Day

Hi everyone, boy did we have fun there!
First we had to complete a list where we planned what we wanted to buy for the picnic. After doing the list with our group mates, we had a better understanding on the items we should purchase for our picnic.
On that day, we were ready with our list to go around and pick up the items that we had noted. Not only did we have to make sure the items were relevant and necessary for our picnic, we also had to make sure we did not spend more than $30. Here are some pictures of our escapade!
